About FoodBox
People don’t just come to eat.
At Gate No. 02, Dhanbad Bus Stand, near City Center, Bartand, FoodBox spreads across approximately 20,000 sq. ft.. It is envisioned as a place where people come to explore, experience, meet and celebrate.
Thirty food outlets. Shared seating. A dedicated stage. Public amenities and parking. A city-scale food street, built for the way Dhanbad actually gathers.
The initiative
A national idea, built for Dhanbad.
FoodBox has been developed under the Healthy and Hygienic Food Streets initiative — a collaboration of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India.
The programme is designed to create model food streets with a sharper focus on food safety, sanitation, improved infrastructure, and a better experience for both vendors and visitors. Dhanbad was selected as one of the locations in Jharkhand.
From an initiative to FoodBox
DMC turned a scheme into a destination.
Dhanbad Municipal Corporation took that national vision and shaped it into FoodBox — a contemporary food and lifestyle destination built around how the city actually spends time.
Spread over approximately 20,000 sq. ft., the site is planned for 30 food outlets, with shared seating, landscaping, a dedicated performance stage, public amenities, and parking. Come to eat. Stay to explore.

Food safety sits at the centre of FoodBox: better food-handling, cleaner kitchens, proper sanitation, organised waste, and a dining environment the city can trust.
Hygienic does not mean dull. Great food, a strong ambience, and a calendar of experiences keep the destination alive long after the plates are cleared.
